CCTV Consultation –CASTLE DONINGTON
As part of the Home office’s Safer Streets project, Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner has supported North West Leistershire District Council in identifying funding to introduce Public Space CCTV in Castle Donington. As part of the Privacy Impact Assessment it is important to establish how people in Castle Donington feel about the proposal and if they are supportive.
Background
North West Leistershire District Council’s Public Space CCTV has been in operation for around 20 years and is monitored at our control room located in the Coalville Council offices. The proposed system will include 8 cameras, covering the center of the town. These cameras will not be monitor car parking, but the car parks will be covered.

While not all of these apply in Castle Donnington, we will not uses cameras for other uses anywhere in the district.
Why we are consulting
As part of the Privacy Impact Assessment it is important to establish how people in Castle Donington feel about the proposal and if they are supportive.Therefore, we invite members of the public, organisations, business and visitors to complete a short survey about the proposal to introduce Public Space CCTV in Castle Donington.
